Monday!

Sometimes I feel like such a slacker!  But then I remember, I have a clean house....and I'm okay with myself again.  So that's what I've been up to!

I love creating and blogging, but sometimes can't get to both, while keeping the kids fed and mentally stimulated and keeping the house in some kind of working order.  So here I am again, caught up.

And here's what I've made.

Union Jack mug rugs!  (Pattern available here for free!)

These have a special place in my heart, and are made for a special reason.

My husband and I and our three boys will be moving to London in the near future.  We are going to work with a church that is there, and eventually begin other churches.  For those who know the term, we are missionaries.  Right now, we are in the process of raising our monthly support, which means that we are traveling, well mostly my husband is traveling while I stay with the kids who are in school.  We visit churches and ask them to partner with us in our "London Calling."  Thus the free motion quilting on the mug rug.  I plan to make these and send one to each of our supporters.

I also finished my first commissioned quilt.  Quilt pics to come for this king sized quilt!  It's finally beautiful out here in South Florida...no more rain and a cool front blew in.  Yay!

I'm linking up today.  Go check out what others are making.

I've Been Busy!

Whew! I pieced a king size quilt top in a week.  In the midst of my husband being out of town for two days and two of my children coming down with a little cold.  (I'm patting my back.)

This thing is so heavy, and it's not even basted yet...it's going to be a beast to quilt!  But I'm up to the challenge.

It's my first commissioned quilt, so I'm excited.  Here's a sneak peak.

1st Commissioned Quilt

I've also made some headway on my two birdie stitches quilts that I'm making with Little Miss Shabby.  I'll post those pics later, but the quilt top is almost pieced, just need a border.

And here are two stars that I've made for the October Grace group of do.Good stitches.

She asked for purple and gray stars. And I LOVE this color combo! I see some more in my future. But for now, I must complete what I've started.

And this is another call for help, this time from Lyanna from Purple Panda Quilts.

She works with foster children and wanted to give them a stocking for them to keep for this Christmas. So she's recruiting 50 people to make stockings. She'll be posting stocking tutorials on her blog every Tuesday (I think) and will help you along the way. I've already pledged to make one on her flickr group Stockings for Kids. Will you go over there and help her out like she helped me with my Quilting for kids blocks?  And please tell her I sent you!
